SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Our audio rehabilitation team has a fully-equipped facility and resources to provide personalized and professional services to improve hearing involvement.

Hearing tests evaluate a person’s ability to hear the different sounds in terms of loudness and pitch. This is typically done using an audiometer in a soundproof room and the results are plotted on a graph to help determine the type and severity of the hearing issue and to diagnose and treat hearing problems.

While children and adults have the same basic anatomy, children’s ears are smaller and continue to grow as the child grows. A paediatric audiologist is trained to identify and address hearing loss in children at an early stage. They are trained to work with children of all ages, including newborns, toddlers and school children. They use specialized techniques and instruments to assess the child’s hearing ability and provide treatment as needed.

Tests include
  • Ear examination
  • Audiometry
  • Speech testing
  • Tympanometry
  • Acoustic reflexes
  • Distortion product otoacoustic emissions
  • Electrophysiological evaluation.
